My curiosity with medicine started when I saw my hometown doctors went to my house to treat my parents.

I received my medical education, MD, in China. I feel grateful I had learnt acupuncture from Dr. Ding Li at Shanxi Medical University when I was in medical school. Dr. Li was a national metal receiver because of his contribution to acupuncture. I kept doing acupuncture when I practiced orthopedic surgery because of its magic effect. It has not only helped my patients, but my own family.

I keep learning various styles of acupuncture. Later, I studied at AIAM in a Master level program for my license here (NCCAOM certificate, Ohio).

I feel blessed to be trained and mentored by Dr. Xicheng Han in my whole orthopedic carrier at Shanxi Medical University First Teaching Hospital. Dr. Han, as the founder of our department, trained me from spine to limbs, from disc rupture to trauma, from fracture to nerve and blood vessels injury. Dr. Han also served as my Master degree advisor in peripheral nerve injury research.

Later I was lucky to have Dr. Houshan Lv, one of the best surgeons in joint surgery at Beijing Medical University Second Teaching Hospital, as my PhD and fellowship advisor. I further learnt joint replacement and arthritis research.

At Ohio State as a Research Scientist, I did studies in caner molecular biology and food- based prevention and tumor imaging. Drs. Steven D’Ambrosio and Michael Tweedle have taught me precious thinking skills in complex data analysis and scientific writing.

Working at Ohio state integrated medicine as acupuncturist and adjunct assistant professor greatly enhanced my clinical experience.

All my work has generated approximately 60 peer reviewed papers in clinic and research, and one invention for trigger finger treatment by combining experience in hand surgery and acupuncture and hold USMLE certificate as a foreign medical graduate ECFMG.

Years later, I realized that it is all the hand on experience from surgery to animal, cells, DNA and RNA studies that helps me better understand the complexity of human body and diseases, which further helps me understand better the whole-body approach of traditional medicine, and applying acupuncture.

On the other hand, it is the holistic whole-body approach of traditional medicine helps me connect all the pieces of my knowledge and experience together. It makes me understand better many disorders such as chronic pain and arthritis.

I am willing to become a team member in your health maintenance and journey of healing.
